EASTCONN Birth to Three Program

EASTCONN’s Birth to Three program supports families when they have concerns about their child’s development. Our transdisciplinary team evaluates a child by assessing all areas of development including adaptive, personal-social, communication, motor and cognitive skills. When a significant delay in development is found, a child is eligible for services through Birth to Three.

Our transdisciplinary team includes Developmental Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and others who provide services deemed essential to a child’s development.

Parents, family members and caregivers are also an integral part of the intervention team. From initial contact with the family through a child’s transition out of Birth to Three, the process is individualized to reflect the child’s and family members’ needs, preferences, priorities, interests, learning styles and cultural beliefs.

EASTCONN’s Birth to Three providers assist family members and caregivers in improving children’s learning and development through everyday learning opportunities. Ongoing guidance is offered to family members to strengthen their capacity to meet the developmental and health needs of their infants and toddlers.
