GED – General Education Development Equivalency Test

This free GED prep program helps you prepare to take four subject tests that, once passed, earn you a high school diploma. Graduates earn a State of Connecticut high school diploma.

Currently, EASTCONN GED preparation classes are taught both in-person and virtually using a variety of technology tools and programs as well as small group classes. Our remote learning is complemented with individualized tutoring and support offered on-site and through the phone. Additional on-site workshops include a Technology Bootcamp, a Distance Learning Orientation, and a Learning Lab. Qualified students can apply to our technology loan program for a long-term loan of a Chromebook in order to pursue their diploma.

National External Diploma Program

Through this free program, you demonstrate your high school-level skills and the ways you have applied them in real-life situations. Then, we work with you to evaluate your reading, writing, math and workforce-readiness skills. Instead of taking classes, you meet with an EASTCONN Advisor/Assessor who assigns you individual tasks that will help you earn your diploma. Graduates earn an EASTCONN adult high school diploma.

Currently, EASTCONN National External Diploma (NEDP) students meet with their advisor in either a virtual or on-site office space. NEDP students also have access to on-site or virtual individualized tutoring and support and a Learning Lab.
